York Bike Belles

This month saw the launch of a fantastic collaboration between ourselves and York Bike Belles.

Kath (on the right of the bike) very much enjoyed her ride on Trixie, the Trio Bike Taxi, from The Chocolate Works Care Village to Rowntree Park. Kath said that the Park is so lovely and that the weather was beautiful. She misses getting out and about having been part of walking groups for many years. She also used to swim in the river in York when she was 8 years old!

Emily, one of the Cycling Without Age Pedallers, reported a lovely story from her ride with Kath:

“In the park, a gentleman was marvelling at the bike and stopped to chat with Kath. He said “what a wonderful way to travel!” And Kath agreed and they started to chat. Apparently, he was 82 and Kath told him proudly that she turns 100 this year. The man was so impressed and shook her hand and even did a little dance. It was a really lovely moment!”.
