Strictly Springfield … This year, it’s time to boogie!
2022 STEP BACK IN TIME
During 2022, residents across our Springfield homes enjoyed monthly ‘Step Back in Time’ days when they visited different eras. From dancing in the 60’s, singing in the 50’s and celebrating Hollywood greats, we did it all! This initiative was developed by our wellbeing teams as a way to engage residents, staff and relatives in a variety of themed and fun activities. There have been so many added benefits to this initiative and we’ve received some amazing feedback.
2023 STRICTLY SPRINGFIELD
During 2023, we will be focusing on music and movement with each month being dedicated to a different form of dancing with our ‘Strictly Springfield’ initiative. From river dancing to Bollywood and rock and roll.. stay tuned to see what we have in store. Music and dancing can bring back so many memories and enjoyment… so, let’s dance!
We kick off our ‘Strictly Springfield’ initiative this month with a trip to the swinging 60’s!

What have our activities teams had to say about this initiative?
“Staff and residents have had a fantastic year taking part in ‘Step back in Time’ days. We have visited lots of different eras whichhas evoked lots of happy memories for residents. We’ve enjoyed different food, and shared lots of laughter (especially seeing our wellbeing teams dressed for each occasion).
For me, the best is seeing the smiles and laughter of our residents as they get stuck into the activities planned for the days. Whether that’s the themed arts and crafts, sing-a-long afternoons, bbqs and picnics, we’ve had an amazing year!”
Linda Shaw – Activities and Wellbeing Team Leader at Seacroft Grange
“Every month we looked forward to our ‘Step Back in Time’ days and we based lots of our monthly activities around getting ready for these special days. For example: in august the theme was ‘High day and Holidays’ and we organised a very successful garden BBQ party with external entertainment Residents and staff spoke about it for weeks later.
We are going to miss the concept of step back in time but looking forward to what this year has in store for us with StrictlySpringfield.”
Sam Enright – Activities and Wellbeing Team Leader at Seacroft Green
“Our residents loved our ‘Step Back in Time’ days. We shared lots of smiles and enjoyment through reminiscence, singing and dancing, especially on our dedicated 1940’s and Back to School themed days.”
