Springfield Walking Group takes to the streets of Seacroft

Springfield Healthcare have launched a new walking group ‘Springfield Strollers’ to encourage residents to get outside in the fresh air, to exercise and to meet new people.

There are so many great health benefits from being outside and our activities and wellbeing team are keen to encourage residents to explore the outdoors, to enjoy the local community and to meet new people on our travels. The outdoors has proved itself to be highly relaxing and greatly beneficial especially for individuals living with dementia, to help reduce anxieties or stress.

Residents who are not able to take part in the actual walking can still enjoy the experience from the comfort of their wheelchair. They can enjoy the company, the fun, the reminiscing, meeting new people and the sights, sounds and sensations of the outdoors.

Our teams at Seacroft have already been busy enjoying their time outside in the sunshine with residents and exploring the beautiful outdoors that we have on our doorstep at the Green.
