Springfield Homecare sponsor Charity Football Team, Mush United.

Springfield Homecare are thrilled to be sponsoring Mush United. What began as a group of friends meeting up for a kick about has developed into a team of men dedicated to playing football to raise vital funds for good causes.

Mush United started in 2019 as a one-off friendly match in memory of a friend and has blossomed into a full-fledged charity team. Inspired by Adam Birkinshaw, whose nickname “Mush” gave the team its name, this passionate group has tackled over five years of challenges and tournaments, racking up an impressive £15,679.25 for various Leeds charities.

With their home pitch situated in Leeds, the team travel across the UK to compete matches against other charity football teams across the UK. The elected charities vary match to match, with players being encouraged to suggest a charity that they hold close to their hearts. The team’s incentive is not only to raise money for charity, but also to create a safe space for men to meet socially and help each other, with players’ mental health and wellbeing being a large priority for founder, Adam.
