Springfield Healthcare joins #GladtoCare week to celebrate the care sector
Springfield Healthcare are delighted to announce its involvement in #GladtoCare Week 2023 – a national awareness week dedicated to celebrating those who work in the care sector, which has returned for its fourth year.
Following the great success of the inaugural #GladtoCare Awareness Week that saw over 500 care homes take part and the #GladtoCare hashtag used over three million times in just one week, Springfield Healthcare will be getting involved in the event, which aims to celebrate the extraordinary contributions that carers make to the lives of recipients of care, their families, and community members.
Spearheaded by Person Centred Software, Oomph Wellness (which is now part of Person Centred Software) and Autumna, three major players in the care industry, #GladtoCare Week will take place from Monday 12th to Friday 16th June 2023.
With the 2023 theme being ‘Wellbeing’ all part of Person Centred Software’s OOMPH Wellbeing and Activities Platform, participants will be invited to join in with a variety of fun and innovative activities throughout the week, designed to get the entire care community and its residents involved. This year’s activities include virtual fitness sessions, cooking competitions a 70’s Dance Workout and Laughter Yoga.
The organisers hope that the week will continue to highlight the outstanding dedication displayed by carers, who have gone above and beyond to make sure care home residents are kept safe, happy and entertained. It aims to champion their incredible work whilst simultaneously allowing them to shout about why they’re glad to work in the care sector.
Person Centred Software have said, “We hope that as many care providers and care workers will get involved to shine a light on all of the incredible work that’s been done, and continues to be done, within the industry, much of which often goes unnoticed and underappreciated. We hope this year everyone enjoys the newly added activities, and we can’t wait to see all shared posts come through online”
Sharing the sentiment behind the awareness week, Springfield Healthcare was keen to get involved and immediately registered its interest. Discussing its reasons for wanting to participate, Mayfield View Home Manager, Katie Cliff said: “We are glad to care because we like to make a difference to peoples lives each day and being able to care for others is a privilege.”
