Official Opening of Mayfield View by the Mayor & Val Hancock
On Wednesday 26th September Springfield Healthcare welcomed Mayor of Ilkley, Steve Butler alongside a host of honoured and invited guests to view and experience Ilkley’s newest and most luxurious care home, Mayfield View, which opens its doors to residents Monday 1st October.
The bespoke care home offering residential, nursing and dementia care from award winning Springfield Healthcare, was designed by Norr architects with the needs of residents naturally uppermost. The building has been hailed as a huge success! Beautifully designed rooms as well as common areas for relaxing, socialising and dining afford superb views over the moors, the Wharfe Valley and our own stunning gardens. The light floods in and visitors have described it as more akin to a 5* hotel.
One care professional commented “It really is a truly amazing, calming space. It’s pretty rare for residents in care facilities to be able to enjoy a view as well as their own garden space. The sense of wellbeing that these bring shouldn’t be underestimated.”
Mayfield View benefits not only from a wonderful building with its own tea rooms, pub, gym, cinema and spa but also from a dedicated and professional team of nurses and carers, as well as hospitality and housekeeping staff – not forgetting our fabulous wellbeing team – all headed up by General Manager Donna Laird. Donna said “I can’t tell you how proud I am of the team that have created such a wonderful home and we can’t wait to start our real job now – caring for people who perhaps are finding things a little too difficult to manage at home or who are perhaps in an existing care home but looking for something a little different.”
Mayfield View will create over 80 new jobs in the coming months and is proud to be situated in the heart of the Ilkley community. Visitors are welcome to our home, “The Teapot” café and tearooms is open to the general public and if you’re interested in care you can pop in for a tour anytime too.
