Live-In-Care customer ziplines above Newcastle quayside
Peter and his live-in caregiver, Jeri, visited the city centre a few weeks ago and observed people engaging in the activity. Upon spotting the registration point, they deliberated whether Peter, who has cerebral palsy, could participate. After confirming its safety, they decided to return a week later.
During their return visit, Jeri conversed with the staff to learn how to assist Peter in getting on and off the zip wire. After this discussion, Jeri took the first turn on the zip line, positioning herself at the bottom to watch Peter’s descent. Peter was securely harnessed and off he went!
Peter admitted that he nearly backed out while waiting at the top for the green light. However, he commends Jeri for being the loudest screamer during their exhilarating ride down the zip line.
Sarah Collinson, Live In Service Manager, said that ‘Peter’s zip wire experience was fantastic to see, showcasing what live in care is all about – enabling an individual to live their life without limitations regardless of their health needs. I must admit, they are both braver than me!’
