It’s time for Pride at Seacroft
Springfield Healthcare’s Seacroft Green Care Centre and Seacroft Grange Care Village, Leeds, joined forces to celebrate pride month on June 17th 2021.
This celebration has been highly requested by residents for several months and Emma Nuttall, Lifestyle Co-Ordinator at Seacroft Green Care Centre, was keen to organise this event for residents and to help spread awareness within the local community.
Emma said “everyone had such a lovely day and staff said they really enjoyed participating and wearing their colourful, rainbow outfits. Thank you to everyone who attended and showed their support.”
Colleagues within the home were so supportive in making sure that residents enjoyed themselves, whether that was participating in the plentiful activities on offer, singing along to the classics on karaoke or enjoying the beautiful ‘rainbow’ bbq by Springfields Head of Hospitality, Steve West.
Seacroft Green resident said “it was so lovely to see everyone spreading awareness for LGBT pride month as it is something very close to my heart.”
Pride is held in June across the world, to commemorate the Stonewall riots, in 1969, which were regarded as one of the most significant events in the fight for LGBT rights.
