International Nurses Day – A Message from Group CEO

Dear Springfield Nurses

I wanted to write to you on International Nurses Day to thank you for all the outstanding work that you are doing, especially in these current difficult times.

Providing nursing care is a very important part of Springfield’s ethos.  It allows us to offer all types of care to all kinds of people, and should their dependencies change or deteriorate whilst in our care, we can continue to support and fulfil their needs.  Doing this role to a very high standard and leading from the front is absolutely imperative, and something which you do every day.  On behalf of the board I’d like to say “thank you” for all of your efforts and for continuing to go the extra mile to provide the best care you can in each of our care homes.

Today is a very special day as it marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale and recognises the exceptional work and dedication of those who chose to follow in her footsteps.  Your profession contributes so much to the lives of so many on a daily basis, and never more so than in the unprecedented and challenging times of a global pandemic.  In honour of all that you do, I will be shining a light in my window at 8.30pm this evening to show my personal appreciation for your amazing efforts.

I am privileged to witness first-hand your unwavering commitment and care to our residents, service users and their families.

Many thanks and stay safe.

Best wishes

Graeme Lee
