International Nurses Day

International Nurses Day (IND) acknowledges the outstanding efforts of nurses globally. It is marked on the 12th of May every year, the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale.

Residents and staff at Springfield Healthcare were happy to get involved by hosting a much deserved thank you presentation for all of our nurses. Springfield Healthcare’s nurses were also delighted to receive some delicious donuts from Krispy Kreme to celebrate this day!

“The work our nurses do across our homes is so important, especially to the residents that they care for. It matters that we take time to pause and thank them and their colleagues across the world for their contribution to the wellbeing of all of us.”

At Mayfield View, residents enjoyed celebrating International Nurses day with some residents who used to be nurses, GP and one who was previously a Midwife. Residents were invited to the Teapot Cafe to chat about their nurses carers, whilst tucking in to some blondies and a coffee.
