Hear from Adele Burton about the recent launch of our Employee Assistance Programme
We recently introduced our exceptional employee assistance programme, Medicash, that aims to help support our staff health and their finances. We spoke with Adele Burton, Employee Wellbeing Lead, to discuss the impact that this is already having for our teams.
My Role
“Now, more than ever, my role as Employee Wellbeing Lead is important and such a valuable asset for our teams. I am so happy that Springfield made the decision to invest in me and this role. I’m only a few months into my new venture and I am loving every minute of it. It has been such a pleasure to be able to work on the new benefit schemes and roll these out. It’s extremely rewarding to see that this is making such a positive difference to so many of my colleagues lives.
Over the coming months, I will be working on setting up wellbeing support committees and also arranging Mental Health First Aid training with MHFA for colleagues in each of our homes. This will help me to be able to provide the support that all our teams need at any moment.
My aim is to ensure everyone feels happy, safe and supported at work and therefore motivated to provide the best care and support to make all of our residents lives better, every day.”
Medicash, Employee Assistance Programme
“I am delighted to see that so many of our team have now started to use their exciting new staff benefits, the Medicash health cash plan and the Blue Light card discount scheme. I have received lots of really positive feedback.
Many of the team have already received cash back following claims for dental, optical and prescription charges which is absolutely fantastic and a great help towards everyday living costs.
We have a team member who has potentially had her eye sight saved through a routine eye test which she only booked because she knew she could claim the cost back. I am so pleased to hear this and that she is now receiving the treatment she needs.
Everyone I speak to who has used their cash plan is so happy with it and feedback shows that it is so easy to make a claim and the money is in your bank account within 5 days. The online access to doctors and counsellors has been a massive help to so many and at times like this, every little makes a difference.”
Bluelight Card
“Many of our staff have now got the Blue Light card and even better, Springfield have re-imbursed the membership fee. It’s so easy to join and immediately gives you access to so many discounts with so many companies. 10% off your ASDA shop is currently one of the savings – how amazing is that and what a difference this can make to your monthly shopping bill!
These are fantastic benefits that Springfield have invested in for all of our staff and reiterates how committed we are to supporting our teams through these challenging times.”
