Harcourt Gardens receive GOOD in first inspection

Following our very first Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection at Harcourt Gardens Care Home, Harrogate, we’re proud to announce that we have received GOOD in all five categories. We received good for being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led, and we’re so proud of the whole team who have worked hard for this rating. Thank you to all staff, residents and relatives who make our home the amazing place that it is.

Harcourt Gardens offers care and support for people in luxury surroundings, with excellent levels of care. We deliver high-quality residential, dementia and nursing care that is personalised to each of our residents to ensure person-centred care.
Our CQC reports give residents, families and staff reassurance about the quality of care that we offer, also highlighting the kind and compassionate services that we provide. Some key comments from CQC included:
  • People told us they were actively involved in the planning of their care and were supported to express their views. One person said, “We are very much at the centre of the full care package. We can ask for changes and raise any concerns which are quickly dealt with.”
  • Daily activities were coordinated by staff who supported people to enjoy interests of their choosing both individually and in groups.
  • The home environment was modern and welcoming with good access to communal areas and outside garden areas.
  • We observed sensitive interactions between people and staff who showed complete empathy and understanding when this was required, along with sharing humorous moments to pass the day.
