Coronation Celebrations at Mayfield View

Residents across Springfield Healthcare’s homes enjoyed celebrating King Charles’ Coronation on May 6th 2023. Our wellbeing and activities teams have been busy planning our coronation celebrations and decorating our homes for the occasion.

At Mayfield View, they welcomed an entertainer which residents enjoyed singing and dancing along with. This certainly got everyone into the party spirit. Residents, family members and visitors also tucked into homemade cupcakes, which were of course decorated for the occasion.

One resident said, “We had a great time celebrating the coronation, there were so many activities for us to participate in and we all enjoyed watching the coronation in the cinema.”

Kirsty Neale, Wellbeing & Activities Lead at Mayfield View, said, “It has been a brilliant few days at Mayfield View. Everyone has really enjoyed themselves and it’s been so fun to organise.

For some of our residents, this was their second coronation and it was amazing to hear how they celebrated Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953.”
