Christmas Activities at Springfield Healthcare

Our team of Activities and Wellbeing Coordinators plan daily activities across all of our homes, from arts and crafts to visiting local coffee shops and garden centres. Christmas has been no different. Here’s a selection of some recent Christmas activities and fun.

CHRISTMAS CARDS

Residents have enjoyed writing Christmas cards to their loved ones with the help of our activities teams. Mayfield View invited local brownies group, 3rd Ilkley Brownies to design Christmas cards for residents. They selected their favourites which became the design for this years Christmas cards, which we sent to families and loved ones.

FESTIVE FLOWER ARRANGING

Cosmos Flowers, Ilkley, visited residents at Mayfield View for a flower arranging session, whilst singing along to their favourite Christmas carols to get into the Christmas spirit.

CHRISTMAS FILM NIGHT

Residents at Mayfield View tucked into baileys hot chocolates and mince pies whilst watching some of our favourite Christmas films.

COMMUNITY DECORATIONS

Our residents have been getting creative preparing for Christmas. At Seacroft Green, residents made their very own paper chains to decorate communities, and residents at Springfield Care Home helped to decorate their Christmas Tree.

CHRISTMAS JUMPERS

Staff and residents got into the festive spirit for Christmas Jumper day on 8th December in support of ‘Save the Children UK.’ We’re taking part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day to help mums and babies stay healthy, giving them the chance of the future they deserve.

BAKING DELICIOUS TREATS

When better to bake than during the Christmas period. Residents whipped up a variety of delicious treats to tuck into and to share with loved ones.

SPRINGFIELD ZOOM

It was so much fun to connect all the Springfield homes for a sing along with Christmas carols over zoom – everyone’s singing was truly wonderful. We sang Rudolph the red nose reindeer, among others, whilst also dressing for the part with reindeer antlers and painted red noses. There was of course lots of treats to go around!

LET IT SNOW PERFORMANCE
At Mayfield view, residents enjoyed a lovely “Let it Snow” performance. Everyone was dancing and singing, and the atmosphere was full of Christmas spirit. Of course residents tucked into some delicious cake afterwards.
