Arts in Care Homes Day

The National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) is the UK’s leading activity and engagement charity, supporting and encouraging care providers to prioritise wellbeing and promote activity, arts, and engagement.

Their Arts in Care Homes programme, funded by The Baring Foundation and The Rayne Foundation, is a five-year programme that strives to demonstrate the positive impact that participative arts has on health and wellbeing for older people. Each year, they organise their annual event National Arts in Care Homes Day which takes place on 24th September.

Springfield Healthcare enjoy participating by promoting and encouraging arts in our care homes whilst focusing on the health and wellbeing benefits for those involved.

This year’s theme is reflections, looking back over the last 5 years to see how far this project has come and thinking about how it looks moving forward.

Iria Cunha, Wellbeing & Dementia Lead at Springfield Healthcare, said “We always enjoy being part of a national celebration event and it gave us an opportunity to offer something different, outside of our usual weekly activities programme. It feels good to be a part of something bigger with an online presence.”
