Activities at Chocolate Works Care Village
At Chocolate Works Care Village, our focus is you. Your health, your wellbeing and your lifestyle. That’s why we take the time to understand your story, your preferences, and your hobbies. Recently, we’ve had a fun filled activities timetable, with something for everyone to get involved with.
Richard and Honey
We had a lovely visit from the singer Richard, and his friendly dog Honey! Residents enjoyed singing along to all their favourite songs and loved getting all the attention from Honey.

Bollywood Dancing
We also enjoyed a fantastic Springfield Bollywood event where staff decorated the home and dressed up for the occasion. Residents enjoyed tucking in to some Indian food, which they said was very tasty. We also welcomed a Bollywood performer who residents were mesmerised with. They were all itching to get up and dance!

Movement Classes
Residents love doing movement classes! Keeping active is very important, especially as you get older. It can reduce the risk of many health problems and can even boost your mood and mental wellbeing. This week, we got the parachute out on out residential community.

Exploring York
Our residents have been exploring the local area by going for some walks this week. We visited the peace garden and used our senses to take in all the beautiful nature. We then took a trip on York Bike Belles to the Minster. They loved looking at the amazing architecture.

Chocolate Works Olympics
Residents have been getting very competitive at our Olympics! Our activities team organised a variety of games for everyone to enjoy and it was amazing to see how skilled (and competitive) our residents are. We gave out some medals to the winners of each game.Everybody said that they had a fantastic day and they were pleased to try out so many new things.

Arts and Crafts
Our residents have been participating in lots of different art projects, from dotted paint flowers to beautiful scrapbook collages. ‘Arts and crafts’ is a great way for residents to stay active, engaged, and creative. It can also help to improve cognitive function, reduce stress, and promote social interaction.

Fruit Trolley
Residents have been tucking in to our tropical fruit trolley which is full of healthy treats. It is so important to nourish your body with healthy foods to give you the energy to power through the day.

Keeping active helps to sustain both physical and mental health, especially for elderly people. It is important to us that you maintain your interests and develop new ones. We understand that enjoyable activities are different from one person to the next, and our person-centred care plans allow us to tailor our programme to each individual. Our communities allow for personalised support, not only by our care team, but by our activities and wellbeing team who work to engage and encourage each resident.
