Emotional Visits for Springfield residents
The rules for Care Home visits changed on Monday 8th March 2021, with an ease in restrictions which has meant that we were able to invite our residents’ loved ones into the home for a more personal visit for the first time in almost a year.
Our residents can now nominate a person to visit them indoors, with our first visits taking place today. It has been an extremely emotional day for everyone who has enjoyed these visits today from their loved ones. Visitors are required to take a test before each visit, to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and to keep physical contact to a minimum, although handholding is allowed. This much-needed physical contact is important for our residents and we are delighted that residents can now enjoy these more personal visits.
We captured these wonderful photos today which was the first time that one of our lovely residents has seen her daughter in many months and the first time they have held hands in almost a year – a truly magical and emotional moment for everyone!
We can’t wait for more of our residents to enjoy these more personal visits and to welcome visitors into our home.
