Safe admissions

Have you decided that moving in to a care home is the right decision for you? We understand that you will have lots of questions including how we manage admissions safely in these challenging times.

Safety in our homes is our top priority and we have several measures in place to ensure admissions are safe and reassuring. Springfield staff are required to do a Lateral Flow test before each shift to ensure that we minimise the risk of Covid-19 in each of our homes.

At the moment, residents who have been admitted from hospital must isolate for 14 days upon arrival to our home. When being admitted from the community, isolation may not be necessary but a risk assessment will be completed to confirm this.

On moving in day, we welcome family members to help. We do ask that you have a negative Lateral Flow Test result, and we’ll need you to sign a health declaration and wear PPE. As always, if you have any questions, let us know.

Throughout the process, our team will always be on hand to reassure you, answer any questions and help with settling in. If you are isolating, you will be given a lots of ways to enjoy and fill your days. Whether you want to relax with your favourite newspaper, enjoy a coffee virtually with family or get stuck into some of our activity packs, we will be there for you to make sure you enjoy yourself.
