Staff Spotlight – Robert Hall

At Springfield Healthcare we are incredibly proud of our passionate and friendly care teams. We have created a blog series to shine a spotlight on some of these individuals, to find out more about their roles and responsibilities as well as what day-to-day interactions they have with our residents.

This month, we have spoken to Robert Hall, Peripatetic Manager.

What is your job role at Springfield Healthcare?

My role is Peripatetic Manager within the Springfield Healthcare Group, however I am currently focusing on Springfield’s latest and very exciting project – Chapter House Care Home.

Chapter House is located right in the heart of the Beverley community and due to open any day now. I have had the opportunity to lead this project by commissioning the new team. I am so excited to see what our newly formed team can achieve.

How long have you been doing it for?

I have been working in healthcare, both the private sector, third sector and for the NHS, in similar roles for over 30 years. Although I have mainly focused on long term care and rehabilitation, I have lots of experience in other areas and across other sectors.

I joined Springfield 2 months ago and what a fantastic 2 months it has been. I’m excited to learn and develop with Springfield, and to see how I can use my skills and experience to improve the lives of our residents.

Which care home are you mainly based at? Do you ever visit or work at any others or are you fixed to one location?

I am currently based at Chapter House, to support the team during the opening of the home. I will be supporting the other homes, but my focus for the next 6 months or so will be at Chapter House.

I recently visited Chocolate Works and Harcourt Gardens and I was blown away by both the environment and quality of care. I can’t wait to start supporting, and working at all the Springfield homes.

What is the best thing about working for Springfield Healthcare?

The most amazing thing is how passionate staff are, this is so clear to see. They all want to provide the very best care and outcomes for residents. It is evident that this ethos comes from Group CEO, Graeme, who has created a culture where residents are at the forefront of every decision. This rings true throughout the business.

What sort of other domestic and non-care related tasks do you offer to residents?

At Chapter House, we have appointed a wellbeing lead who is working closely with the activities’ teams in other Springfield homes to develop an exciting activities programme for residents. We want to ensure that residents can maintain their independence and continue to do everything they did before becoming moving into Chapter House.

We are in a truly unique position in that the home is in the very heart of the community, so we will be supporting residents to get involved with the local community. We’re also excited to work with those in our community, to welcome them to our home and to create intergenerational relationships with local schools.

What is the best thing about the team of staff at Springfield Healthcare?

The team are so extremely friendly, all focusing on one core aim which is providing residents with the very best care. Everyone will happily help and support you, and since it is a relatively small team, it makes it much easier to liaise and work on projects.

I’ve only been with Springfield for 2 months, but I already feel so valued! I can’t wait to see what we can achieve at Chapter House.
